The Engadin Ski Marathon, the Xtratrail Lavaux, the Aletsch Half-Marathon and the Jungfrau-Marathon are all iconic running or cross-country skiing events held in UNESCO World Heritage regions. Together, they form the UNESCO World Heritage Trophy. These classic events, set amidst stunning natural landscapes, come together to offer participants a unique and unforgettable challenge.
For CHF 349.00 (excl. fees) you can register for the UNESCO World Heritage Trophy.
The following races are fixed in the Trophy:
Participants are free to choose from these four events. They may take part in all of them; however, at least three out of the four races are required to be included in the UNESCO ranking.
Participants of the UNESCO World Heritage Trophy will also receive free admission to the World Nature Forum in Naters.
If you have completed at least three of the four events, you will take part in the final ranking.
Your finishing time per run will be divided by the winning time of your category. This value (quotient) will be used for the final ranking. If you participate in all four events, the worst quotient is dropped.
The participant with the lowest value wins the Trophy. This gives participants from all age categories a genuine chance of taking the overall win.
The top three overall participants, as well as one person drawn at random for the UNESCO World Heritage Trophy 2026, will win a weekend for two in one of Switzerland’s UNESCO World Heritage regions.
Carmen Neuenschwander and Maarten Hendriks are the winners of the 2025 UNESCO World Heritage Trophy. Congratulations!
